Texas Hold’em Poker

The Opening

At the start of the Texas Hold’em Poker, players are dealt with 2 faces down cards also known as ‘hole cards’. After that, you can bet, check, or fold your cards. During this round, your decision depends upon the two cards or the starting hand only.

Once, all the players on the table have betted, three cards with face up are dealt at the center of the table which is called the flop.

The Intermediate

After the flop, another round of betting happens, and then the fourth card is dealt face-up at the center of the table, which is known as the Turn.

Then there is another round of betting and the final face-up card is dealt known as the River. Finally, the last round of betting is done. Your best hand will be made using the five face-up card at the middle and two hole cards. The information regarding various hands and their ranks have been given in the table above.

The Finish

There are two ways to finish:

  • All the player shows their hand and the best hand wins. This is called showdown.
  • A player bets enough to make everyone else on the table to fold. This way he wins the table even without showing the cards.

Recap Steps:

  1. Two cards dealt with each player – hole card.
  2. Round of Betting
  3. Three cards (face-up) dealt at the center of the table – The Flop.
  4. Round of Betting.
  5. Fourth card (face-up) dealt at the center of the table – The Turn.
